Pettmans carries out successful antique auctions held at our Athelstan Road premises with extremely good prices achieved for our clients for antiques and objets d’art placed with us. Our auctions are attended by prospective purchasers from all areas including London and the South East, together with local people looking for the elusive bargain. This begins with a home visit where all the items requiring valuation are listed. After this, a detailed written inventory is prepared describing each item and a value set aginst each one (for either probate or insurance).

It is always recommended that for insurance purposes, valuations are supported by photographs. These prove themselves to be invaluable as they have the added advantage of showing the condition and colour of the item.
